DIGITAL RADIO (drm *) 24/7

This schedule consists of digital transmissions on frequencies mostly below 30 MHz, and is updated by Klaus Schneider. These frequencies could offer a sustainable terrestial digital radio for vast rural areas. As well they are meant to replace AM. On some of the frequencies signal can reach over thousands of kilometers. On the other hand, some frequencies work purely local. (Javascript needed.)

For successful digital reception, some basic shortwave/AM knowlegde (about antennas, propagation etc.) is needed.

* The abbreviation DRM stands here for the Digital Radio Mondiale,
not "Digital rights management".

On the Finnish news page there are some sound samples, recorded in domestic DRM listening on shortwave in rural Finland.

"DRM+ is a very good solution especially for all our rural stations but also we thought why not testing it in Paris in the worst possible conditions (..) It proved to work really well", says David Blanc (Syndicat National des Radios Libres).
